Survivor Canada News Update:
  • The CBS Television Network officially confirmed that the fifth installment of the highly successful SURVIVOR series will take place in Thailand on the island of Tarutao. Established in 1974, Tarutao National Park is Thailand's first marine park, consisting of approximately 50 islands. Koh Tarutao (koh means island), the largest island of the park, was once used as a prison for long-term punishment and political prisoners. The 16 castaways will share the 58.3 square miles of island with a wide range of monkeys, snakes and bird life, along with a spectacular marine life of whales, dolphins and sea turtles. With the cooperation of the Thailand government, production has been granted access to the island, which is normally closed to visitors from mid-May to mid-November. SURVIVOR: THAILAND is scheduled to premiere in the Fall, 2002. The series is produced by SEG, Inc. Mark Burnett is the executive producer.
